Jacksonville Really, Really Free Market February 2026

I love shooting portraits of people. I find the moment fun and thrilling, and really enjoy interacting with strangers and meeting new people. I did street vending in NYC on and off for years and I feel like stranger portraits is one of the few things that scratches that itch. I recently got my SX-70 back after additional upgrades and felt this was a great chance to test out the camera. I don't currently have a frog tongue, so the photos are burned a bit, but honestly, it's still a vibe and everybody seemed quite pleased. I am still getting used to framing with this camera, I have an Alpha 1 model and find the focusing ring to be somewhat distracting, I don't use it and don't really have a lot of vertical lines in my work to bother with it anyways. That aside, I will be back and do more of this event in the future. I took a total of 16 photos, with 14 posted here (all are on my Instagram). I just got my flash in the mail, and although it isn't needed for every shot, I can see quite a few where it would have been useful. Does it matter if everybody is happy?
