First Pack of Film on Updated Polaroid 660AF

For the past number of months, the Flip has been my go-to box camera, replacing my Now 2 and 600 Sun. My biggest issues with the Flip is the autofocus is not very good, along with other issues that I won't go into here. I am still keeping it for the bluetooth capabilities, along with double and long exposures, but I needed something better for event photography and snapshots. After doing research and asking around, I settled on the Polaroid 660AF with auto-charging flash. The Flip has 4 lenses, each with a distinct focal range. The 660AF has 5 lenses, and they have overlapping focal ranges. The Flip was basically modeled after the 660AF, but just like with clothing reproductions, the original is usually better. I purchased my 660AF from eBay and had it sent to Zac Hazlett. He cleaned it up, re-calibrated it, and added the Polavolt so that I could use i-Type film. Like my Flip, it has a tripod mount, but doesn't come with the artistic extras. Ultimately I decided that's okay since I recently upgraded my SX-70 with the new PBCr, which I will be using for my more intensive creative projects.

I wanted to test my camera with color film, but all the single and double packs of 600 and i-Type were sold out locally (Target and Walmart!) when testing on Jan 25, and there was only one black and white pack in the entire county. I prefer to bulk order my film from Polaroid, but it takes time to save up for that. When I can't, I look for single packs, but I figure a lot of people purchased film after Christmas.

What I did capture on my black & white film was incredibly satisfying. I took 6 photos, while my husband captured the 2 photos of me (he isn't as experienced with viewfinder cameras, so the photos captured my pajama bottoms lol). The portraits I took of Eric were just as nice as what I have taken on my Flip. The photos have bokeh that really gives the photos an upgrade over my single lens 600 Sun. And from ebay to tech to my doorstep, the camera was a total of only $118 (prices may change as more people hype this camera up). The Flip started at $200, then $220, and now $230, all less than a year from launch and without fixing the atrocious autofocus issue.
