Cities I service include Jacksonville, Gainesville, St.Augustine, and Savannah. Email me at shilohlevy@gmail.com orย fill out my contact form to get started.
Service Details
What do you do once you pick up my clothes?
I will bring the pieces to my storage and use my extensive experience to grade them, checking for damage, quality, and other factors. Anything that has a retail value of over $100 on the resale market can be returned to you upon request. Items of good quality with minor issues will be block printed, screen printed, painted, and/or dyed and consigned or put in my online thrift store for me to raise funds towards my various art projects. Some blank garments will be used as canvases for my fine art projects. Items in mint condition that I cannot use for fundraising for my projects will be donated with preference to local charity stores that provide supportive services to domestic violence victims and survivors (usually donated to Hubbard House in Duval or The Shoppe in Putnam). Items that are damaged will be evaluated to see if they are worth repairing, including adding lost buttons, mending loose hems, and patching holes in jeans. If there are too many stains, pilling, or poor quality etc, I will responsibly dispose of the items at the landfill.
What conditions are acceptable?
I am accepting clothing in most conditions, but I ask that you do not offer clothing with strong smells such as cigarettes, mildew, or mothballs. I do not mind doing some washing and specialty cleaning in order to save pieces from the trash, but please use good judgement.
Are you only accepting vintage clothing?
I will accept any type of teen or adult clothing from any era.
Why contact you when I can resell clothes myself?
The majority of items, unless high end designer, do not hold much resale value. Not to mention the photographing, researching, listing, and storage space. My goal with this service is to help alleviate the burden of sorting, grading, transporting, and donating items yourself, saving you time and relieving stress. It helps me source blank pieces that I can add my original art onto and offer affordably in local consignment boutiques or as fine art on my website. This service also helps thrift stores save labor and dumpster space. It's win-win-win!
May I keep the valuable garments?
Yes! Any item I would value at $100 or higher can be returned to you via mail (you pay) or local pick up. I use a combination of online sales website records along with personal knowledge of textiles and clothing to assign a fair value. No repairs, cleaning, or alterations will be done on these items. Value depends on age, condition, label, material, current trends and a number of other factors.
